CHELSEA FABULOSITY: AVRAM V MOURINHO, JT SUMS IT UP, DIDI PUTS THE CHERRY ON TOP

It's been a weird season for the Blues hasn't it?

After Sex in an Overcoat left Chelsea back in September everyone – us included - had all but written Chels off as a side that had nowhere to go but down. So, how did Didi (who was supposed to be this close to leaving in January), JT and the boys end up here? CL final in hand, title hopes still alive?

At the press con after Chelsea’s win over Liverpool last night, Avram spoke about his inheriting the team’s rough start to the season:
“You need to do your own job, but it's a fact that we lost a lot of points at the beginning and were chasing other teams. Unfortunately we didn't start the season that well and were behind others early on. The psychology of doing that is not easy.”

His ‘own job’, huh? Well, we’ve never been the blog to try and force hardcore analysis on you but even the fluffiest of football fans has got to be pondering this question today: Could Avram possibly be as good of a manager as Mourinho was? Or – gasp – even better?

Considering the fallout after Mourinho’s leaving he’s put the team together quite nicely, we think.

It’s their first CL final after all and this – no, this was not luck.

JT's thoughts:

“To get to where we are and have people still questioning the manager's role at the club is unbelievable. Things have been very good and results don't lie."

Before you get all huffy and spam us with your 'OMGz NOOOOO, Jose is the bestest though!' comments, take a moment to calm down, collect your thoughts and realize that last night was not really about Avram. It was about good ol' fashioned 'world-class' football.

(TIET's TMI du jour: Isn't it hilarious when you hear 'world-class' and 'all English' used in the same paragraph. We dare not but tell us - how many times have you seen the two combined to create some super-drivel this morning?)

It was also, of course, about Didi taking his shirt off. You didn't think we'd forget, did you? And look, he's hugging that hunk of a keeper which doesn't hurt.

Thanks to the magic of perspective, it really, really, really looks like Petr is about to stick his hand down Didier's shorts there.
I just thought he was flapping his wrist in a Very Gay Manner. But either way, that picture is a thing of beauty. <3
Ah, sneaky Cech. Didn't even notice his wandering hand at first - too busy admiring Didi.
