LIVE-BLOG: FRANCE V HOLLAND
As we've mentioned a few times in the past, TIET is standing in firm support of the Frenchies this summer.
Our decidedly shallow reasons being:
- Thierry's peachy bottom
- Coupet's gorgeous hair
- Patrick Vieira's odd obsession with Arsenal (several seasons on and he still can't stop jabbering about the Gunners)
- Malouda's cheekbones
- Benzema's emerging man-child good looks
Reason's not to support the French (you know, if you think logically):
- They've not scored a goal yet in the tournament. (Which is fine because obviously Thierry Henry will release a slew of killer hits today)
- Domenech is more than a little bit off his rocker. (But if you ever needed some psychic advice, you know who to call)
- They're French. If you're a normal person, you hate the French. (They've given us Gaspard Ulliel and chocolate croissants. Leave them alone.)
Co-hosting the live-blog today is friend of the blog and blog-sister, Jak (TFO) from the truly marvelous, Fresh Legs. Jak, bless her heart, has chosen to support the Netherlands this time around.
What an utterly foolish move.
Has she no clue that France will go on to win the tournament with their beauty and non-charm? Has she no clue that Benzema is 'the one to watch'?
Suppose she does have a point though: Robin van Persie's bottom is rather peachy in it's own right, Wesley Sneijder's got a gorgeous smile and Ibrahim Afellay's emerging man-child good looks are rather intriguing.
And yes, we are completely ignoring the fact that the Dutchies went and embarrassed the world champs last week. Occasionally, we too enjoy indulging in a bit of irrational positivity and optimism.
The live-blogging shall begin at: 11:30AM PST/2:30PM EST/7:30PM GMT
