I SMELL A TRANSFER!: DON'T LET THE BLING DECEIVE YOU, THEY'RE SLAVES AND THE ONGOING LAMPARD DRAMA
Sepp Blatter has come out and said that if Cristiano wants to leave United, he should be allowed to.
We were, you know, about to agree with him but then he had to go unleash this gem straight after:
"There's too much modern slavery, in transferring players or buying players."
Does Sepp realize that we've also entered the 'modern' era of contracts? Yes, where footballers are given exorbitant amounts of cash to stay at one club for a certain amount of time? Sometimes, they're even asked to see out those contracts. Ridiculous, we know.
[EDIT: There's also video so no, that quote was not taken out of context. The Times also took a look back at a few of his past quotes for those of us that want to relive those 'lady footballers should wear short-shorts' moments.]
There are some players (who coincidentally, also have fantabulous thighs) looking to forcefully break the chains of slavery though. Now that contract talks with Chelsea and transfer negotiations with Inter have stalled, Lampard may simply walk out on his contract Webster-style. Lamps is a renegade, folks, and he can't be stopped!
Is the Lampsy/Inter saga the story that won't die, or what?
