YOU GO, GIRL!: BLANCO GETS RIDICULOUS
According to this interesting bit of footage, Chicago Fire's Cuauhtemoc Blanco got a bit nutty on DC midfielder Clyde Simms at last night's Chicago/DC match.
[EDIT: Figures. 'Video unavailable.' Thanks for nothing, MLS. It basically showed Blanco punching Simms in the stomach followed by a bit of tussling afterwards. Not sure if it was intentional or not, but it looked like he actually tried to do it while the ref's back was turned. Sneaky, pal.]
In addition to the punching and eye-gouging on Simms, Blanco also pulled out the ol' Zidane on a DC United staffer after he was sent off. He also got into it with some security staff who were trying to calm him down.
DC defender Marc Burch has opened his yap on the situation:
"He came up and swung as hard as he could and tried to hit the ball and hit Clyde in the stomach. He thinks he can do whatever he wants. I went over and I pushed him. I didn't hit him, I didn't go after him, I just pushed him down. He's not going to do that to my teammate. He stood up and tried to poke Clyde in the eye and cut his eye open."
Marc -- who was sent off for his conduct as well -- also delved into a bit of character analysis for us, stating that he doesn't like Blanco and doesn't think he's a very good person. Good to know, Marc.
DC rep Doug Hicks says that MLS have requested video of the night's events so someone might actually get licked with a nice fine or suspension for this ridiculosity.

And I especially like this: He's not going to do that to my teammate. Good for you, Marc.
