MAN-FLESH DU JOUR: BENDTNER, ARSE-NAL AND EMIRATES CUP BITS-AND-BOBS

Bendtner ain't this week's EPL hottie for nothing, you know. Look at that cute little grin. Irresistible.
That photo is from Stuttgart/Arsenal (A note on that match: Who else thought Jens was totally going to catch fire? Looked like the bizarre glamour pyro caught him off guard) but Emirates Cup has already started.
Arsenal lost to Juve in their opening match yesterday... but Trezeguet did score the only goal. Is there some consolation to be found in that? We like Trez and his bratty, whiny, pretty self.
Also -- booing Adebayor? Really, is that necessary? Isn't it time to just move on from this nightmare already? At least he didn't do a Hleb and whine publicly about wanting to leave. He remained somewhat cryptic about it all regardless of what was going on behind the scenes. And, although it really does go against every bit in our hearts to argue on this man's behalf right now, a huge chunk of this mess was the media just stirring stuff up. The fact that the club have doubled his wages to keep him is troubling though. Sorry, not 'troubling' -- astounding, rather.
Another Emirates Cup side-note: Hamburg played Real Madrid (2-1 Real, by the way) and guess who was missing? You guessed it! Conspicuously absent, Rafa van der Vaart was. Sound the transfer alarms once more, boys and girls. [Edit: Done and done? Or not...]
[Edit II: Signed. The official announcement here.]
And finally, in news that we can't be bothered to huff-and-puff about any longer: Wenger - Gallas to keep captain’s armband.
TIET's official statement on the Gallas matter:

It's a long weekend in Canuckland currently. That means we probably won't be around here on Monday. Well, that or we'll be blogging slightly drunk and/or making up 'news'.

the adebayor thing is quite understandable though, all summer long he was portrayed as a money hungry traitor, if what was in the papers was true then he deserves it, but it probably won't last that long anyway
Dijoux - Oh, it's completely understandable. And expected.
